            - Charlotte Wiggins highlighted the recent presidential announcement that National Forest lands may be for sale to the public.  She says 21 thousand acres in the Mark Twain are potentially affected.  These are primarily isolated pockets that are more costly for the NFS to maintain.  No details are available at this time.  The property list was just released to Mark Twain officials and they are analyzing the list.  More information is available on the National Forest Service website, www.fs.fed.us.

            - Larry Sexton said that the annual Association of the US Army (AUSA) reception and dinner will be held on March 2 at 6pm at the Audie Murphy Community Center on Fort Leonard Wood.  Guest speaker will be Lieutenant General Clyde Vaughn, the Director of the National Guard.  FLW supports many important Guard missions.  If interested in attending, please call Nancy Gregory, 573-563-6157.  We hope to also get General Vaughn over to the UM Tech Park at FLW to receive briefings on the region, the Tech Park and Leonard Wood Institute.
