Missouri's Fort Leonard Wood Region (MFLWR) is a regional economic development organization in south-central Missouri. It draws together the cities and other public, academic and corporate entities within three thriving counties - Laclede, Pulaski and Phelps.

MFLWR was founded in 1995 to help local Pulaski County cities and schools prepare for the population increase that would come with the move of the Army's Chemical and Military Police Schools from Fort McClellan to Fort Leonard Wood.

Since the move, MFLWR has expanded to become a multi-county organization focused on economic growth of the entire Fort Leonard Wood region. MFLWR is a not-for-profit organization which gets its funding from its member cities, co-ops, school districts and private business.

Ex-officio members include the University of Missouri-Rolla, the U.S. Geological Survey, Missouri's Department of Economic Development and the state-sponsored regional planning commissions that serve the region.  Fort Leonard Wood provides a liaison to the organization.

We have recently completed a target industry study.  Much of the information included in this website reflects the findings of this report.  We have also completed a regional workforce study.

The association meets monthly, normally on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:30pm in Building Two, University of Missouri Technology Park at Fort Leonard Wood.  Everyone interested in economic development in the region is invited to participate.  Please call to confirm date, time and location.

We appreciate the support of our contributing corporate and academic partners.  Please visit them.  They include:
